More About This Tour
Dog sledding is a unique, memorable, and popular Arctic activity that we warmly recommend when traveling to the Arctic.
Dog sledding may actually be one of the most appreciated on-land activities one can do in the Arctic landscape. With this in mind, we made sure to partner with our favourite kennel operated by our trusted partner “Arctic Adventure Tours” just 25 minutes from Tromsø center.
The team that will be taking care of you is a passionate, knowledgeable and genuine group of dog-sledding professionals. It’s a pure blessing to be able to have them share the amazing feeling that dog sledding brings with happy, strong and healthy Alaskan huskies.
After leaving the farm your driver will take you through the snow-covered highlands of Kvaløya. With some luck – the Northern Lights will dance in the sky above. It’s moments like these when we wish we could stop and the feeling would stay with you for a lifetime.
All of the gear you will need is provided on site including warm suits, winter boots, woolen socks, hats, mittens, buff (cover neck, mouth and nose) and head lamps. The facilities are clean and comfortable and the traditional Lavuu (Sami tent) is heated by a fireplace where they will serve hot coffee, tea and chocolate cake. You will even have the opportunity to drive the sled yourself to really feel experience the authentic dog sledding experience.
