Warm clothes/blankets/gloves etc available and were a godsend! The ride was 3 hours long, just long enough to switch off and do nothing but look at and appreciate the light and the setting. It was fairly windy when we went out which meant that the engine could be switched off and the sails put out, so there was minimal background noise. Highly recommended trip. read less

The boat went fast, of course it was cold, very cold, but with the warm gear they gave us (to wear on top of our own layers), it was perfect! When we got back from the trip, we were provided with warm drinks and snacks and sat around the cosy fire chatting before we all headed off to do different things. I’d definitively recommend Pukka for their RIB tour of the fjord around Tromsø. All the staff were friendly, accommodating and professional at the same time. Before going, I worried slightly about getting sea sick (past experiences), but the boat goes super fast, you look forwards and absorb the beauty and not even an ‘s’ of the seasickness popped up! Amazing experience If you set off on this journey accepting that you’re in Mother Nature’s hands and that there’s no certainty you’ll... read moreIf you set off on this journey accepting that you’re in Mother Nature’s hands and that there’s no certainty you’ll see the northern lights, you’ll appreciate how good the PUKKA team are and all they do to make you live an extraordinary experience, despite the aurora.

We left the lounge with very little hopes we’d see the northern lights. It was cloudy and the odds were not exactly in our favour.

Kamila and Hubert perfectly know territory and weather conditions all around Tromsø and drove us about 50km away from the city, with Sami music on the radio, to keep our hopes alive.

After setting up the camera, we lit up a bonfire and tasted a delicious homemade reindeer soup, while Kamila and Hubert explained what creates northern lights and fostered a good atmosphere among all the group members.

All of a sudden, a tiny breach in the clouds showed us a couple of stars and revived our hopes. A little later, the gap was wide open and the northern lights were right there dancing above our heads.

Aurora or not, the PUKKA team was just fantastic throughout the tour.

The northern lights were just the icing on the cake. read less

But it did not start like that. My trip/booking was canceled due to the bad weather forecast and I could not join even the one they offered me the day before... it was full... and even if the weather would be good tomorrow, there was not enough people...
But I went to Norway ONLY for that trip! I was sad, very. So when Pukka team heard about that next morning... they just called and said something like "hey, the weather seems to be good and you are booked for the trip!"
No questions asked I went to the meeting point to discover there was nobody. Except me and the captain!
And perfect weather.
And the best sunset in weeks.

This team deserves the best feedback and they are getting that!

The tour was led by Debbie. Words fail me when I try to express my feelings about the tour and the tour leader.
The lights were overwhelming and Debbie found them just outside Tromsø!
We had four hours of excitement. I should also mention that the soups which were served during the trip were very tasty.

Planning was excellent, with quick replies to emails and helpful suggestions where to go with our spare time - not trying to sell us another trip. In Lofoten, there's lots of driving, and we followed their suggestion to cut down on the amount we had to do on one day by swapping two trips round, so first we had a sailing trip to a fjord, with great scenery and a wonderful lunch included. Then an evening hike up and over a hill to a secluded beach to watch the sun set - rated easy but a fair challenge. The next morning we then had a tour of the best photo spots on the island, but sadly the weather was awful by this point. We saw Haukland beach but the rest of the sights were covered in cloud, however we went back to most of these on our spare day for better pictures, so it all worked out. The guides ranged from super chilled to super enthusiastic to cheerfully talkative but all were professional, helpful and friendly. All trips included food, the lunch on the boat was the best - fish soup cheese and bread, the others were just salad and cream cheese sandwiches, but still welcome. The northern lights appeared as we left harbour and continued to amaze throughout. When we anchored in the middle of a fjord with the engine silenced, we sat in the quiet, taking in the lights, shooting stars and beauty of the landscape - it was wonderful. Our guide and our bus driver where amazing. We stopped twice on the way to our final stop where we already had the chance to see the northern lights. The final stop was amazing. We had a bonfire there with some soup and Marshmallows. The guide and the bus driver helped us with our camera to get the best pictures possible and they where really great. We were so lucky with the weather and also had the unexpected bonus of seeing three orcas off the coast from the Hamnoy bridge spotted by Dawid. There is a bit of driving involved to get to Reine but they gave us plenty of information and some lovely stops along the way, and we never felt rushed. Dawid took photos that he sent through so if you wanted, you could just relax and enjoy the views. It was a memorable tour - the best day of our Norway trip. Highly recommended! More read less
