Planning was excellent, with quick replies to emails and helpful suggestions where to go with our spare time - not trying to sell us another trip. In Lofoten, there's lots of driving, and we followed their suggestion to cut down on the amount we had to do on one day by swapping two trips round, so first we had a sailing trip to a fjord, with great scenery and a wonderful lunch included. Then an evening hike up and over a hill to a secluded beach to watch the sun set - rated easy but a fair challenge. The next morning we then had a tour of the best photo spots on the island, but sadly the weather was awful by this point. We saw Haukland beach but the rest of the sights were covered in cloud, however we went back to most of these on our spare day for better pictures, so it all worked out. The guides ranged from super chilled to super enthusiastic to cheerfully talkative but all were professional, helpful and friendly. All trips included food, the lunch on the boat was the best - fish soup cheese and bread, the others were just salad and cream cheese sandwiches, but still welcome. We left the lounge with very little hopes we’d see the northern lights. It was cloudy and the odds were not exactly in our favour.

Kamila and Hubert perfectly know territory and weather conditions all around Tromsø and drove us about 50km away from the city, with Sami music on the radio, to keep our hopes alive.

After setting up the camera, we lit up a bonfire and tasted a delicious homemade reindeer soup, while Kamila and Hubert explained what creates northern lights and fostered a good atmosphere among all the group members.

All of a sudden, a tiny breach in the clouds showed us a couple of stars and revived our hopes. A little later, the gap was wide open and the northern lights were right there dancing above our heads.

Aurora or not, the PUKKA team was just fantastic throughout the tour.

The northern lights were just the icing on the cake. read less

We were so lucky with the weather and also had the unexpected bonus of seeing three orcas off the coast from the Hamnoy bridge spotted by Dawid. There is a bit of driving involved to get to Reine but they gave us plenty of information and some lovely stops along the way, and we never felt rushed. Dawid took photos that he sent through so if you wanted, you could just relax and enjoy the views. It was a memorable tour - the best day of our Norway trip. Highly recommended! More read less

We got out the bus and saw the milkyway first and after some minutes the northern lights show. The aktivity wasnt very strong but it was incredible to see anyway.
The chatting at the campfire was very nice and the soup and wraps were delicious. We had a small group of 7 people. Our Guide Camilla was very nice and provided us with lots of information about the lights and norway itself. I would recommend this experience. Even if the wheather conditions are bad, they will make it possible. read less

We sailed out and had a fantastic show up in the sky. They provide you with warm furs and coats and serve a fresh fish soup after a while. Definitely recommendable. Hamnøy was one of the destinations we really wanted to visit, and Pukka Travels had one of the only tours I could find that visited there, along with other destinations.

Our guide and driver, Steve, picked us up right where we were docked in Leknes and the tour was great from start to finish. Steve had insightful and interesting commentary about the landscape and area and knew all the perfect photo-stops. On the way back, he also let us pick spots we wanted to see again or ones we hadn’t visited yet along the road.

This was one of the best tours we’ve had so far and we loved how many places we were able to see in one day. Thanks, Steve and Pukka Travels! More read less

We could ask him anything about the boat, the arctic and basicly anything we wanted to know about life in Norway. He also made really tasty food (told us the recipe, so we’re definitely gonna try that at home!). I’m also very happy about the fact, that there is no problem if you are a vegetarian. The soup was fully vegetarian and taste Amazing! There are some snacks and coffee/tea avalible during the sail. It was great, that the boat has a heated salon, because it gets really cold outside (but the warm suit did really help). Also it has a bathroom, if you need. So if you are thinking about a trip like that, I would totally reccomend Pukka Travels Next time I’m in Norway, I’m gonna definitely book a tour with them again!
