Tromsø is known as one of the best places in the world to watch the Northern Lights.

We are the only tour operator in the world that provides Northern Lights tours in a Tesla Model X. A zero emission, magically silent, powerful performance experience cruising in the next generation of cars along the Arctic roads. The groups on this tour are small (only up to 5 passengers per car) to provide an exclusive feeling that we strive for. We provide gear to keep you warm — extra gloves, hats, blankets and boots. The car is equipped for safe winter driving with an effective heating system to make sure you are comfortable at all times.

After finding a great spot to watch the Aurora, your guide will set up a campfire with warm drinks and cozy campfire snacks to munch on while watching the stars, the moonlight and of course the Northern Lights.

Chase the the green lady in the far North during this once in a lifetime experience

In a small group with maximum of 15 people we will find the best spot to see the Northern Lights (away from light pollution and with clearest skies possible). If it is cloudy above Tromsø, don’t worry, it is possible to find a clear skies further away.

Our team carefully analyzes the weather conditions before the tour, while keeping in touch with other guides and monitoring cloud movements on the way. Once we find the best spot, it is time enjoy the arctic nature and take some pictures. Your guide will take professional photographs, which will be shared the following day. Your guide will also help you set up your own camera – if you need a tripod, we can let you borrow one of ours for free.

Your guide will stay with you for the entire evening while making sure you are as comfortable and warm as possible. To do this we provide thermal suits and warm, dry boots for the entire duration of the tour. Later in the evening we will make a bonfire, have fresh sausages, s’mores, hot drinks and cookies.

We sail in the fjords 364 days per year and we love it (by tradition we take christmas eve free). There is so much life in the fjords in the wintertime and seabirds, eagles, seals, and massive fish are gathered to feed and stay alive in the rough climate.

We are very passionate about The Northern Lights and will do everything we can do to provide you with the most memorable experience while waiting for the sky to start dancing in the sky above you. There are many ways to enjoy nature’s best light show, but our favorite is to combine it with a warm, comfortable cruise through the fjords surrounding Tromsø.

Why watch the northern lights by boat instead of car you may ask? Sailing through the fjords in the polar night is a very unique and different experience than driving to a certain spot in a car or bus. We are able to keep moving with the lights, while being able to go inside to grab a fresh coffee, stay warm and enjoy the lights on the net of a spacious catamaran.

The benefit of venturing into nature on this tour is that we can show you the most amazing places in the area, guide you and your small group along the way, while keeping you warm and comfortable in one of our modern minibuses.

We have found that many travelers want to get out of the city, and explore the epic nature in the area, but do not know where to travel to, nor have any way of getting there. We have created this tour to show you some of the most special fjords in the area in a comfortable, and genuine setting. Our guides know the area well and love to show you our favourite places while providing history and local knowledge along the way.

This tour offers the perfect combination between a day of exploring the fjords that are facing the massive atlantic ocean, while enjoying the genuine setting of a small group and an experienced guide. It’s a tour for the entire family, and you will get the opportunity to ask questions, take pictures and stretch you legs in these amazing arctic environment that we love so much.

During the tour we will stop for coffee/tea and a light meal at one of our favorite spots .We will provide warm safety suits, gloves and boots to make this Arctic experience as comfortable as possible. The car is always warm and if you are interested in taking some photos when we stop you can borrow our tripods for free. We always keep the groups small (up to 15 people) for you to get the personal experience and connection with our guides that we strive for in Pukka Travels.

Before the tour takes off we meet up at our Base camp in central Tromsø for a briefing and introduction to the area we will explore for the day. The bus will pick you up outside of our basecamp so there is no need to walk far or get cold on the way. After the tour, you can enjoy the warm lounge at our base camp for as long as you wish, where you can charge your camera for the evening and plan your next “golden moment” in the arctic.

Snowshoe Hike x Tesla Experience Excursion in the breathtaking fjords of Kvaløya.

You will start the day by getting picked up at your hotel in Tromsø centrum. Our guides will know you by name along with having the equipment ready in our Tesla Model X. All of our tours are small (up to 5 passengers per car), where comfort is key.

Dog sledding is a unique, memorable, and popular Arctic activity that we warmly recommend when traveling to the Arctic.

Dog sledding may actually be one of the most appreciated on-land activities one can do in the Arctic landscape. With this in mind, we made sure to partner with our favourite kennel just 25 minutes from Tromsø center.

The team that will be taking care of you is a passionate, knowledgeable and genuine group of dog-sledding professionals. It’s a pure blessing to be able to have them share the amazing feeling that dog sledding brings with happy, strong and healthy Alaskan huskies.

When exploring the Arctic, we want you to get to know the Sami people, and learn about their traditions and cultures.

Therefore we have partnered with our dear friends at the sami camp where you can enjoy an unforgettable day.

This tour includes a reindeer sledding and a Sami culture lecture at their camp. During this experience you also have a chance to feed the herd of around 200 reindeer, fun and exciting way to connect to this historically important animal. We then gather inside the “Lavuu” (Sami tent) for a hot traditional meal and listen to stories about Sami culture & history.
