We are very passionate about The Northern Lights and will do everything we can do to provide you with the most memorable experience while waiting for the sky to start dancing in the sky above you. There are many ways to enjoy nature’s best light show, but our favorite is to combine it with a warm, comfortable cruise through the fjords surrounding Tromsø.
Why watch the northern lights by boat instead of car you may ask? Sailing through the fjords in the polar night is a very unique and different experience than driving to a certain spot in a car or bus. We are able to keep moving with the lights, while being able to go inside to grab a fresh coffee, stay warm and enjoy the lights on the net of a spacious catamaran.

Our skippers and guides have the knowledge and first hand experience to keep you safe and comfortable while enjoying the dancing night sky. After hundreds of sailing tours in the area we have found the best spots in which we will have the highest chances to see the lights. Your skipper will also navigate to different areas depending on the weather forecast.

The Golden Eagle, our catamaran is located in central Tromsø, and your professional skipper will be waiting to greet you at the dock. Our tour groups are small (up to 12 passengers) in order to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

Of course we can not guarantee sightings, but we have a very good track record where we see lights on the majority of our tours.

If you are a bigger group
We can offer several boats where you get to enjoy the lights with a bigger groups while still keeping the genuine and personal touch to the tour. We adjust the plan to suit your needs, care for your experience, pick you up and drop you off at your hotel and coordinate groups up to 100 people for Northern Lights Sailing Tours.

On our warm reindeer skins, lying on your back on the comfortable catamaran net, with your favourite person next to you and inhaling the view of the starry skies and listening to the water flowing by the haul of the boat. This is a special evening that we would like to share with you.
We provide all of the gear you need
We provide some extra gear you may need including warm suits, extra gloves and hats, however we do recommend to bring proper winter clothing for your maximum comfort. The catamaran is equipped for safe winter sailing with an effective heating system and of course, our skippers have all of the licenses and knowledge needed to make you feel comfortable while out at sea.
Out on the water new with friends
While many other operators have big boats with a lot of people, we care for your personal experience while sailing with us. Our guides would love to answer any questions you may have while sailing. Our crew loves feeling as if they are out on the water new with friends, while in a professional, safe and comfortable setting.

Great question! We take your comfort seriously and know how nice it is to replenish your energy with warm drinks and small snacks throughout the day. We also prepare a delicious fish soup that can be enjoyed with fresh bread in our warm saloon.

We will customise any of our tours to suit your travel desires, for example we can provide the luxurious catamaran to you group exclusively, with your own skipper, for as long as you wish.

Meet the Golden EagleThe Golden Eagle is a unique Lagoon 440 Catamaran with luxurious accommodation, rebuilt and equipped for the Arctic environment. Onboard we have the opportunity to host larger groups up to 12 people. We have emphasized modern features for explorers who may be in search of that little extra touch of comfort in our large VIP cabin while cruising the Norwegian Fjords around Tromsø and Lyngen.
