WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FROM RYA SKIPPERS WITH IMO-60 SAFETY COURSES
If you are looking for a fantastic opportunity to combine your talents as a skipper with the ability to do what you love everyday – this could be something for you!
To work commercially in Norway you need a minimum of D5L or D5.
IF YOU ARE A RYA YACHTMASTER SKIPPER, WE HOST A COURSE IN ENGLISH IN SEPTEMBER TO RECEIVE YOUR NORWEGIAN LICENS!
You also need to the following courses/certifications:
– IMO 50(60) STCW 95 Basic Safety
– Crowd & Crisis Management
– Medical assessment from a maritime doctor
– VHF cert
WORKING AS A SKIPPER
Being a skipper is a job that requires a range of qualifications and experience. You are responsible both for the safety of the passengers, the navigation of the yacht and the experience we provide our clients here in the north.
BE OUT IN NATURE
Every day, we take our guests out to watch whales, catch a big fish or experience the Northern Lights. We believe that you have a passion for being out in nature and enjoy showing the best of Norway to our international visitors.
IT’S THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD?
We operate out of Tromso harbour and our fleet is located in the center of town, only minutes walk from the main hotels, bars, restaurants and shops. We profile our company to be in the highest quality operator, and we make sure to have the best yachts in the market and build a strong team of enthusiasts to deliver our products.
Our high seasons are both Summer & Winter. Summer is between June and September and winter between November and February. However it can be possible to join us full time sailing in the Arctic 12 months in the year. You can ask our team about this in the application process.
RYA – SKIPPERS
NORWAY DO NOT YET RECOGNISE THE RYA LICENS FOR COMMERCIAL WORK.
IN SEPTEMBER WE HAVE ORGANISE A COURSE FOR EUROPEAN SKIPPERS TO RECEIVE THEIR NORWEGIAN LICENSES. THE COURSE IS ABOUT EUR 2000, RUNS FOR 10 DAYS, AND CAN BE PAID OF VIA YOUR SALARY THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
